We are very particular about quality and provenance. Our fresh baking, like all our luxurious food, minimises fats, refined sugar, and high-cholesterol ingredients. Artificial flavouring or colouring and preservatives are not used. Our preference is organic and free-range.
Your breakfast basket is served to your room as requested between 8am and 10am. Our selection includes warm, homemade bread fresh from the oven, Homestead organic preserves, free-range eggs, and light, golden croissants baked daily. Our juice is freshly-squeezed in season. With sufficient notice we do our best to accommodate preferences and diagnosed allergies.
Fabulous local restaurants are just 5 minutes’ drive away, and some offer special deals for our guests. Regular passenger ferries open other options across the bay.

Dinner at the Homestead is by prior arrangement for groups of four to six, at a fixed price of $140 per person with wine matching additional.
Our fine country cuisine has been awarded four stars by the most particular of lifestyle magazines, and may feature freshly shucked oysters from the bay at our front lawn, fresh fish, prime local meat and freshest ingredients from our own organic gardens. Dishes are prepared attentively in a flavoursome, modern style by cuisine writer, the Foodwriter’s Guild award-winning chef/proprietor Michael Hooper.
At day’s end, we offer a range of liqueurs or single malts, a glass of top New Zealand wine, or French champagne. Our own mineral spring water is available free-of-charge at any time and the espresso is seldom silent.
